Heating Plant in Sztum
exists since 1985. At the beginning the HP was the subsidiary of WPEC Elbląg, which was divided into separate companies in 1991. Since 1993 the company was operating as a limited liability company, which was privatized in 1998 and become part of Praterm Group.
Currently, the ordered power is 18,8 MW and annual sales reach 130,000GJ of thermal energy for central heating and hot water needs. The HP is equipped with 3 coal boilers WR-5 and 2 coal boilers ER-125. The grid is over 10 km long.

Since 1998 (privatization) over PLN 2 millions have been invested into system modernization, grid development (new customers connections) and closing down of low emission sources. Modernization of the grid, especially of the heat transformers, allowed to reduce the price of hot water for end users.
Currently, the plant is managed by Mr. Mieczysław Kopczewski and employs 23 people.
